Toy Care & Cleaning

Toy Care
Some tips that will help your toys survive a long and active life:
- Take batteries out of any toy that is not in use.
- Clean toys before and after each use.
- Make sure your toys are completely dried before storing them. Remember: Water is a bacterial host.
- Store your toys in a safe place and in proper storage bags or case.
- Use products for specific uses only if they were designed to be used that way.

Toy Cleaning
Use a mild soap and water to thoroughly clean your toys. Be sure you are using a gentle cleanser like Ivory or Dove soap or an anti-bacterial intimate toy cleaner. If it is safe enough to use on baby skin, then it can be used to clean your toys. Always allow your products to dry completely before storing them, as excess water is a host for bacteria. Store toys by themselves and not with other toys. If you are planning to “share” your toys with a partner, make sure you are “fluid bonded” partners. If you are not fluid bonded, then please put a condom on your toy before sharing it.
Silicone
If your product does have a motor and is not waterproof, you may clean it with a wet cloth and a mild soap. Be sure to clean off all soap. If it does not vibrate (thus, has no motor) or if it has a re-moveable motor, it can be boiled for several minutes or placed in a dishwasher to clean and disinfect. Beware that boiling or placing certain silicone toys in the dishwasher might discolor them.
Elastomer
Because elastomer products can sometimes be porous, it can be harder to clean. Use soap and water to thoroughly clean any elastomer toys. Be sure when using soaps, you are using a gentle cleanser like Ivory or Dove soap. If it is safe enough for a baby, then it can be used to clean your toys.
Glass & Metal
These surfaces can be easily cleaned and disinfected. You can simply wipe them with rubbing alcohol or wash them with a mild soap and water. These products are especially slippery when wet, so don’t drop them.
Plastic & Acrylic
These products can be wiped clean with rubbing alcohol or washed with a mild soap and water. Remember that some plastic toys can scratch easily.
