Our Store

Au Boudoir is a business founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2003. We realized the need for an honest and safe place to help people explore their sensuality and improve their intimate communication and problem solving. We are committed to maintaining high standards by offering the most up-to-date and accurate information with top quality products, a well-educated staff and a pleasant place to shop. Our classy product lines highlight sensuality and romance without being tasteless and exploitative, allowing everyone the freedom to indulge in their own natural desires. When it comes to sensuality, Au Boudoir takes the holistic approach. We believe that intimacy is not a bad thing, but actually the way to a much happier and healthier life of love and pleasure. Our extensive classes, workshops and other store events help people to learn and feel more confident in the information they receive and they products they buy. We always to refer to our store as the Romance Shop or Sensual Store and never a “sex shop”. When you come into our store, you can expect all “explicit” products to be in a comfortable and secured area so we can protect the privacy of each of our customers. Au Boudoir is more than just a place to shop, it’s a lifestyle, a state of mind, and the opportunity to explore our unique sensual desires with which we as humans have all been individually bestowed.

Our Staff

With these ideas in mind, we embraced a staff that is well educated, professional, compassionate, non-judgmental, friendly and fun. Our staff consists of a registered nurse, firefighter & EMT, licensed doula (birthing & labor coach), licensed acupuncturists, renowned author, and therapists of pre-natal & healing massage as well as students of other various health professions. We are also mothers, wives, and activists against sexual violence, with a common passion for health, joy, safety and satisfaction.

Our Products

Our product lines consist of primarily of lingerie, organic massage oils, lotions, candles, gourmet chocolates and fun tasty body treats like edible powders and feather ticklers to personal lubricants and safe sex supplies. We also have a fresh flower cooler and vases along with an assortment of greeting cards for any occasion. Some our favorite products for creating a romantic ambiance are our art deco lighting fixtures which are a permanent display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. All of these products we sell for the idea of setting the mood for an evening of romance and creating a more intimate environment topped off with a variety of soothing jazz and classical CD's. Be it that special evening or just a thoughtful and tasteful gift for that special someone in your life, our fabulous store embraces the whole idea of sensual intimacy, making it the “once stop romance shop”. We buy our products from manufactures that produce only body-safe and ethically manufactured items.

Our Mission

Our mission was to create a place that would encourage personal growth, empowerment, and healing, as well as support community education and activism. Our goal is to help people see their desires as positive and their bodies as beautiful. We want to celebrate sensuality with anyone seeking more healthy and positive attitudes and perspectives.

But our philosophy goes beyond spoiling romantic couples and individuals. It encompasses the whole community. We offer a number of events from in-home parties, to in-store classes, workshops and lectures, fashion shows, fundraisers and art gatherings.
